hello all.
i have a favor to ask.
im in the market for finding a gts, and it seems that its hard to find one equiped with abs. i guess i could take it out for a spin and test out the brakes to find out if it does have it or not, but i would like to be able to recognize the abs unit when i open the hood on gts.
can someone post a picture of abs unit? i'd really appreciated it.
and if one was equiped with abs, where is it located at?

gts seems to be a very nice car.
its light, saves gas(unless u go wot), have plenty of room for anything,
pretty good stock sound system, at last but most, good handling.

thank you in advance!

I don't like ABS.

They're a disadvantage when you know how to not lock your brakes. You can brake harder and stop quicker with standard.

My GTS didn't have ABS and I'm glad it didn't. I don't like ABS. I can brake harder and quicker without ABS because I know the threshold of where the tires lock up.

ABS also prevents my Z from doing a burnout... The ABS lowers power from the rear wheels... Dang

That is traction control. But to see if you have ABS without going out and testing it or opening the hood, simply by turning the key to on will cause the lights in the dash to light up, if the ABS light turns on then it is equipped with ABS.

That is traction control.

That's what I thought too. On the Z, even with the traction control off, the ABS takes power from the rear wheels. It is in fact the ABS. Why? I have no idea. One of the mysteries behind Nissan.

Note: People must pull the brake fuse to be able to do a burnout.

I would much rather prefer the one equipped with abs in a real life.

Well, I've never heard of ABS "taking power" away from the Celi. I dunno, I have ABS, and it REALLY STOPS WELL, as I found out when I had to brake hard to avoid a motorcycle that pulled right in front of me. Without those brakes, I would have hit him for sure. I'm not sure if ABS was a factor that time, but I certainly kept it straight, and there was no locking.

I just have to say, if you gotta have ABS, find a GTS with ABS, and don't get it installed after getting the car. It shouldn't be hard to find a GTS with ABS; probably most have it.

So far the Z is the only car that I know ABS takes power from. It's odd. If you guys don't believe me look it up!!! :wiggle:

I'm guessing ABS is sensing the front wheels are locking since only rear wheels turn during burnout. so the car will release and grab the break (what the ABS usually does)
That might be the reason why you can't do burnout with ABS

the z has a sensor that if you have the brakes and gas on at the same time it cuts the power from the engine Just found that. Ha
