i changed out my sidermarkers to clears today...the only thing is for some reason a few months ago the bulb on the right side had fallen out of the housing (well the entire light assembly), glued itself to the floor and burned a hole through the wheel well. when i found it, the bulb was loose and when i pushed it in, it wouldn't work unless i pushed it in harder, and even then it was loose (i.e, shake it around and it stopped working). so i put a piece of scotch tape over it, and let it melt to the bulb and it held it fine for a while. but when i changed them today it was dead again (but if i push bulb in, it works)...so i had to do it with the new bulb for the sidemarker as well.

the only thing is, the one with the piece of tape over it is kinda dim now compared to the other.

can i get a new light assembly for the bulb from toyota? the thing just spontaneously got itself out of the housing, i never touched it.

or should i not even bother? it looks like the tape will hold the new bulb on there for a while (it already melted away mostly but sticks to the bulb and holds it on) but it's a pain to keep messing with it.

how much does a new one cost?

well it won't work forever. so put in your stock everything and take it to the dealership. they'd replace it although i wouldn't be surprised if they tried to get out of it.
