How to remove 3rd brake-light?

How hard is it to remove the third brake light on the trunk hatch? I'm getting my new wing painted soon, and am thinking of painting the light as well. Anything I should look out for? Thx.

Yeah does anyone know how to do this I am currently taking my car apart to get it totally repainted but I am thinking that I will have to take the trunck lid off to get it out. Anyone know how?

when u open the trunk, look underneath u should see two black grommets/seals. remover these with a flat screwdriver. this should give u access to the 10mm nuts holding it. remove these.
then u gotta carefully lift the light, but at the same time cut with a flat knife, the double sided sponge tape holding the light down form the outside, be careful not to scratch the paint, this is the hardest part. once done then disconnect the wire plug.
i work in a body shop n done it b4. it was a while ago so if any troubles pm me...

oh yeah, the double sided sponge tape is on the side closest to the roof, i could be wrong, but go with it carefully n u should pick it out
