i've searched through everything i can find and every thread ends up with people posting what they have on their cars, but nobody compares them to other bulbs...

...anyhow...i want a brighter light that is all white. or if it's possible, a white with a slight bit of blueish tint (like a cold white or something). do bulbs like these exist?

my local pepboys sells Sylvania Cool Blue lights, my friend just put some on his focus, they're definitely a lot more white than the stock orange...

i've also heard about the Phillips Blue Vision, and Sylvania Silverstars...

and lastly, what about the fogs (H3, right?)...is it possible to get white or white/blue fog lights? i read that there's some kind of lens or film that makes all lights come out yellowish.

thanks for any help! i'm sure others are still wondering about this.

also, any instructions on replacing lights on celicas (high/low beams and fogs) anywhere online?

EDIT: also, i want to change my high beams so i can get a different color for the DRLs as well...any bulb that is as bright or brighter than stock but white/blue?

from what you're describing... Philips BlueVision bulbs would be perfect... they're a pretty bright, pure white light.. there's a few people around here who have them... go to www.powerbulbs.com they have lows/fogs... they should match up great together. hope this helps... :)

noooooooo not the "which bulb is best" thread again.... no don't get sylvania cool blue bulbs....yuck....

if there's a film that makes it come out yuckky, just use sand paper, and sand off the film, if you ever take out the lens. also, i use eurolite...crappy company, never heard of them before, but i've been using these bulbs since december, no burnouts or anything.

no you can't get drl's diff color than highbeams, and the highbeams >> on drl is yellow stock, so disable drl's, that's wat i did.....umm.....any thing else i miss?

shouldn't changing the high beams automatically give you different color DRLs? aren't DRLs the high beams at like 40%?

has anybody else gotten white/blueish light from the fogs?

I have Philips BlueVision, and they do illuminate the road with a pure white light. Looking from the side, they don't seem white, but from a distance they do.

so are bluevision the best you can do to get the fogs to be close to white?

and are bluevision brighter than stock? i don't want to end up having less visibility just to get whiter lights...

are they better than the osram/sylvania silverstar?

If you really want white/blue fogs, you're just better off selling your stock housings and buying some aftermarket ones.Originally posted by t2000gts

are they better than the osram/sylvania silverstar? Yes, they appear brighter because they are white. Reflective things show up especially bright.

Check out this comparison for more info:

Check eBay (http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&query=fog+lights+white&ht=1&itemtimedisp=1&st=2&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&BasicSearch=). I'm not sure which brands are the highest quality, though.

someone told me that bluevision bulbs are 60w...is that alright? 5w isn't too much is it?

also what about the quality of hiper, or piaa? bad/good?

i think i'll just go with the blue visions...phillips does make decent quality bulbs, no?

thanks for all the help, btw.

also, is philips vision plus just yellow? or white?

BlueVisions are 55W just like stock.

I had Hiper Plasma Xenon white bulbs and couldn't see sh*t at night because they were too blue. They weren't focused very well either (small beams of light shining 1 ft above the main beam).

PIAA supposedly last pretty long. I had my Ion Yellow fogs for a good 5 months before I got into an accident that blew one out. PIAA's are kinda expensive, though (which is why I didn't bother replacing the other bulb).

VisionPlus are slightly whiter than stock, but still have a yellowish tint to them. If you're interested, I still have my VisionPlus bulbs plus one spare bulb. I'll sell you all 3 for $25 shipped (usually around $40-45). Only used for about a month.
