I picked up a buffer from wal-mart kinda cheap how much wax do I need to put down to not really screw my car up. I am looking for a deep glosss look so doing it by hand isn't getting the job done so I intend to go with the buffer so give me your in put on things to do and don't do.

its almost impossible to damage the paint with a random orbital buffer. Rotary buffers are the ones you have to be extremely careful with. Just make sure you don't get anything on the buffing pad that would scratch your paint. Don't push down on the buffer either. I also suggest using a claybar before you polish/wax it makes a huge difference especially noticeable on darker cars.
