Had my tires balance twice this week. I was feeling a slight vibration from my steering wheel going at around 70mph+, so I bought my car in to a mechanic shop to get my tires balance. Well, same thing happen again going 70mph+, so I was like WTF? Wasn't the wheel balance? bought it back, told them the problem. The shop at first played it off and said the wheel was balance because they said the weights were on the tires.....guess what....I told them just to put the 2 front tires back on their balance machine and it came out to all 0's. I was like uh...ok. So I guess my rims might be bent...but it wasn't.

Went to another shop, and they rebalance all my wheels again and it was fine afterward, no vibration from steering wheel.

Anybody know what happen here? Did the first shop have a **** up wheel balane machine?

Kind of piss off because it was $10 to balance a wheel at both shop....so 4 wheels x $10 x that by 2 times =$80

i had the same problem when i owned an integra. i went to goodyear for tire balancing, i still had shakey steering wheel. i went to my mechanic and he told me i had a bad tire. goodyear replaced it and balanced it again, same problem. i then went to Don olson tire shop and they said goodyear sucks and that it all depends on where you put the weights. good year only puts weights on the inside while don olson puts weight on the actual outside rim well. they did that and it worked great. don olson does a great job.
