Rustling sounds behind speedo

Hi,

Have been hearing rustling sounds from behind the speedo. My mech was saying that it could be due to the air in the air con vents flowing through and ... he didn't fix it. Now, I'm trying to find out what it could be done to remove the sound, so that I can ask him to fix it permanently.

Some guy I met suggested that it could be due to the air con belt, cos' the rustling sound does occur even without starting the engine. :( Thx in advance for all advices and comments.

I was gonna say mice but ok it could be a/c belt, have you tried to take off the gauges yet

Sounds like you have it a bit more isolated than me, but for myself I had a similar problem, turned out to be my keys.

I was suspecting that the air con belt could be the culprit, cos' without switching on the engine, the rustling sound could be heard.
