Hey krazyone..i totally agree with you, I have the same wheels on my car, and w/o the centercaps it looks kinda funny IMO. BTW, there's a 4 week backorder on the centercaps, probably 2 week or less now.

Yes, I suggest you get a body kit.

Interesting... I'd figure that the gunmetal would be a darker finish. I guess that's Volk's version of gunmetal. I like the rims, but if it were my car I'd want 'em to be darker. Can't go wrong w/Volks if you have the $$ though...

yes u need a kit

you so badly need a body kit! All that money spent on those rims and they are not being veiwed at their full potential because of the lack of body finese. So get a kit and i'll be envying your car.

Well, I love the rims. For once, you need 45 series on 17's or your speedo will be off. That's what size I have"215/45/17" and it look great. Having 40 series on 17's will give extra wheel gap and that doesn't look good at all. But other than that, it looks good.

does ur tire rub on top of ur wheel well? mine does alot

LovinDaCamSwitch
06-04-2002, 11:28 AM
Well, I never had any rub yet that I know of. I have a 45mm offset on my 17's. What is your offset and what springs are you using?
Dan

krazyone
06-04-2002, 11:38 AM
ground controls and +29mm offset, fits perfect in the wheel well

LovinDaCamSwitch
06-04-2002, 11:55 AM
Well, if you have Ground control, I would go with the camber kit for Hotchkis to have your rear wheel straighted to avoid rubbing. Another thing, maybe you need to raise the car a bit to help stop the rubbing. I got progress spring now with the Hotchkis camber kit too, and it ride fine and no rubbing ethier. You know for sure you dont want to mess up you new tires or you rims too. You got your money tied up on them why not protect them? IMO.

I think that Celica's look better without kits IMHO. Some cars need kits to look cool, but the styling on the Celica is so good from the factory, a body kit usually just ends up screwing the lines of the car up. That's probably why the most popular kits are the ones that don't change the way the car looks that much or that look almost exactly like the stock peices, such as Kaminari and wings west. Body kits are good investments for some cars if you want to stand out, but I think that Celica owners could do better with their money if they spend it on other things. ;)

actually this is not quite correct. With 45 series tires on a 17" rim your revo's per minute will drop down to about 820 as opposed to the normal 840-850 it should be. Your speedo should be around 2 mph off with 45 series :D

What's with Volk wheels and center caps? Alot of Volk wheels sold do not come with center caps, or the caps are usually out of stock. When I bought my Te37 I had the same problem. I had to wiat 1 1/2 months to get them.
