I was just wondering. If the Lexus IS300 have the na 2jz under their hood..Why or would it seem impossible to make a celi with the 2jzgte.Of course we would need a beefier frame, rear wheel drive, anda lil longer hood space, but does it seem possible.Im not talking conversion..but instead manufacturing the car.Does toyota plan on making another supra? If not why not give the celica a chance at infinate power.Think about it..Akickin body style,Lots of power, and many honda owners completely bewildered as u pass them like they r standin still.(well I get that alil bit now LOL):AF: Does any one share my same idea?

That would be sweet as hell but there is no way that toyota would do that. They just want to sell as many cars as possible. If they did it would be very expensive also(30k to 40k).

You would completely throw off the balance of what this car is made to do. Have decent power, but make up for a lack of power with quickness and handling abilities.
yeah it'd be cool for straight line stuff, but I don't want just straight line with this car. I want to be able to bend some twisties and feel balanced.

take the following steps:
1.pop hood of celica
2. pop hood of supra
3. smack oneself on forehead

4. look at the celica's weight distribution
5. think about the celica's lightweight concept
6. Think about killing handling

Yes, you could do a Celica with a 2JZGTE, and then it would be a Supra. Why don't they make a 3 Cylinder Supra and call it a Metro?
It just doesn't fit the marketing and design principles.
There is a 1JZGTE on ebay right now. Order it up and put it in your Celica.

so what...is everyone saying that the IS300 handles like ****? So in the case of the Supra are they gonna make another one.I dont know if its just me but the supra and celica have always shared some slight body similaritys.so if they made another supra would it maybey look like an elongated celica.one way or another it would be sweet.Take a look at coolcelicas sig...immagine !!! Top Pt. being Toyota needs a new flagship car..either bring back the supra or .................................................. ..............

The IS doesnt handle like crap, the car is just made to take that powertrain, the celica is not, you gotta account the structural change to the car, and like everyone said, sure it will have the power but handling would be shot because of the structural change.... As for toyota's flagship car, their marketing doesnt look at a sports car as their flagship, their flagship right now is the Avalon. That's what flagship means to them and has always been.
