Hello all,
I've been trolling this forum for about a month now, ever since i bought my celica. I picked up a 2002 GT. I know enough about my car to get myself into trouble.

Now for the bad news:
over the past few days i've noticed my car making a weird oscilating grinding sound around 3k rpms, but only when i'm trying to hold 3k rpms, if i press on the gas it goes away, or if i let off the gas it goes away. and twice now my oil light has come on, once when i went down a tight turning off ramp, and again a few days later i put the car into neutral and slammed the brakes when coming to a stop.

is my oil pump going up?

I checked my dipstick when i got home and the level seemed fine.
i wish i could offer a better description of whats going on.

Welcome to the forum.

If possible make a video and post it on here and someone might be able to help you figure out what's wrong with yor car. It's hard to say what's wrong without hearing it first.

welcome my oil pump is out right now it was making funny noises good luck i can find one besides the dealership about $140.00

Well wouldn't you know it, after filling up and driving to work I cant get it to do what I want in the parking lot. I have sucked it up though and am taking it to a shop on Tuesday, hopefully they can give me a reasonably good diagnosis.
