How do I remove the engine plastics? I need to remove my front bumper in order to remove my headlights so that I can install my HID bulbs, but I still have my engine plastics on, and in order for me to remove my front bumper I need to remove the plastics. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Get a screwdriver (preferrably a philips head) and push down the center of the little round clips, then pull them out. Then you can remove the engine plastics. If you need help removing the bumper, check the "Grill Installation Instructions" in my sig.

in order for me to install the HID bulbs....what exactly do I have to do? Ive done a search to see if anyone else has had this problem, and Ive also checked out the install. Do I need to remove the front bumper? and the plastics? I removed my plastics, but not my entire bumper, just the top part so I could pull it back. Any help and instructions would be great.

To remove the headlights, you'll need to remove the plastics and the bumper. There are 3 screws on each headlight: one at the top, one by the turn signal, and one on the side where the sidemarkers would be if the bumper were still on.
As for installing the actual HID's, I haven't a clue. There are a few people here that have them, so just hunt them down.
BTW, this should've been posted in the Appearance Mods forum.

best of luck, and exactly what blue bomber said, but damn bro, be careful what you do with your lights, if you are having trouble just getting the engine plastics off, you sure you should be installing HID's yourself;) maybe a shop would be better, haha, j/k with you, good luck and post some pics when you are done so we can see the results, Tim

Yep got them on. Dont have a digital camera though to take pics. I have never done any mods to my celica besides stereo system and painted brake calipers. I have worked on my mustang cobra though, and I dont have to deal with all this plastic crap around the engine. Oh well, got it taken care of.

do you have to replace any fuses when you install the HID bulbs? I installed mine and now my DRL on the passenger side stays on when the headlight is on. On the drivers side the DRL doesnt light up when I arm my car alarm. any ideas?

Did anyone notice I wrote up the HID install about a year ago?
And no offense, but as you'll see in my install, if you don't know how to remove the engine plastics, you shouldn't be installing expensive HIDs. Funny you said that though....it's like you quoted the first paragraph of my install.

I saw your install Clone, but isn't that for a conversion kit?
I just want to know this, if you replace just the bulbs, do you need to replace the 10A fuses with 25A fuses. Cause right now my Passenger side DRL stays on when the headlight turns on, no idea why.

So I take it you mean you have fake-HID bulbs? Don't say HID if they're still halogens. ;)
