think its time to get rid of the celi, want to get a bit of a nicer car which suits my needs better than the celi.

price range is 15-25k, looking for something reliable, good gas mileage, 4doors, semi-luxury. no european. this is my list so far for used cars.

TL
TSX
legacy
is300
g35

what are your thoughts?

I'm not sure about the others, but you could scratch the is300 and g35 from your list based upon "good gas mileage".

TSX probably gets the better gas mileage, and they are pretty nice.

TSX. Very refined. Good gas milage. Can come in 6 speed manual. Can smoke lots of cars with a simple supercharger upgrade. TSX FTW.

But if you want complete performance over gas milage, Legacy FTW. It's a complete sleeper when modded.

If it was my money it would go for one of the rwd cars, but I concurr that the TSX would be a better overall package.

I/H/E, RSX-S head and Hondata on the 6 speed TSX ... and that is one friggin nice car.

Used S2000 is not 4 doors and semi-luxury.

Out of your list I would go with the TSX or a g35 :)

Legacy... More unique than the others and from what I've heard they can be nice lil sleepers. :gap:

No mods? Then G35 would be my choice.

Guys he said "good gas mileage". VERY wrong choice to get a G35 based on that alone.

If you get an automatic, then it's acceptable. But if you go for a manual, I don't know how you'd be able to live without at least I/H/E bolt ons.

I love the TSX to death - you should use the search function for my review of the car

it basically comes equipped with everything you could ever possibly want at about $10,000 less than optioning up a VW or Audi

And the handling is superb - the car is unwilling to say no - it just does almost whatever you want it to, which is amazing for a FWD platform

with Hondata you can even give it more guts

yea thanks marc ive read your posts on yoru car reviews. i started with the tsx on the top of my list but the resale value on those thigns are so high, for the same price i could get a similar mileage TL. i like the legacy just because its a bit different, did pretty well on car reviews. did you test that one yet? will see, maybe might jsut end up getting a new 4dr civic, i hate living in LA

I love my TL. I don't take it autocrossing, or onto the mountain passes of Japan, so its lack of superior sports handling does not concern me. It's a boat. However, it's got enough trunk space to fit 2 or 3 dead bodies, and it's very comfortable. I snagged a Certified 2003 TL-S w/ around 34K miles (highest end w/ Navi, aero kit and everything) for ~$20K.

The other car I looked at was the 4-door G35 (no shocker there). Bonus there: You don't need premium gas. Personally, I did not think RWD was a good feature for this type of car. I drove through snow on the highway easily w/ the FWD TL (if you cared, but being in Cali, probably not. :D ).

I don't think you can go wrong with either of these models though.

With the other models, it's pretty obvious what you are sacrificing. You get a more nimble car, but you are sacrificing room. Pick your priorities and go with them.

You can lease a brand new TSX for next to nothing - if you know how to negotiate you're probably around $299/month with $0 down. If you're a sucker you're still only about $309/month with $1000 down.

I used to work for Nissan - no VQ engine functions properly without premium gasoline - you CAN run low grade, but the engine reduces timing and you get noticeable power loss and lower fuel economy

Damn I wish those kind of lease rates were available in Canada :(

For a TSX here, you are looking at $600/month even with a few grand down. Sucks even more since our dollar is almost par with the US dollar now.

...I keep reading up on your amazing lease rate for the Z4. Can't even bare to look at that here:

Standard lease 36/48 month
Down payment of $8000
Interest rate 8% (insane)
Residual value $23177
Monthly payment before taxes = $703 (including our crazy 14% tax = $801.42/month)

This is for the 3.0i as well. Not even the 3.0si

So damn sad.

Come to America, pick one up, then cross the border.

That's insane. She needs to print out the deal from the BMW website and tell them to **** off.

http://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/leaseoffers

the 3.0si is currently $359/month

I got my 3.0i with $2500 worth of options free after a good 4 hours negotiating

It's not possible if you are leasing. Even if you want to buy, it is harder and harder to do now. If it was that simple I would be down there in second buying a new car.
