View Full Version : Does it take a while for springs to settle?

I just got my skunk 2 springs from UPS last night and I put them on last night. As of now, the height looks the exact same as when I had my eibach sportlines on; however, the skunk 2's are supposed to be lower. I don't remember if it took a while for my eibachs to get lower. Will they get lower in time? I'm pretty disappointed right now because the drop looks the exact same as my eibachs and here is what the drops are:

eibachs= 1.8f, 2.4r

skunk 2's= 2.25f, 2.5r

So according to the specs, I should be able to notice a difference (especially in the front), but I don't.

Give it time.

It is only 1/2" so it's not like it's gonna be a considerable change.

There should be a difference after the first drive, but not much if any after. Once the springs seat themselves, that should be it.

Well that sucks, because I just took a long drive. The front is BARELY lower and the back is actually HIGHER (I measured from the center wheelcap to the fender before and after...with the sporlines it was exactly 13 inches, with the skunk 2's it is 13.5 inches). I guess I should have kept the sportlines on the back. :gap: Oh well it's done now and I don't have time to swap springs again (started fall semester tomorrow).

it took my GT-S a day or two to fully settle on my Skunk2 springs. Give it a day or two and let us know if you notice any difference.

I just saw that I forgot to put the rubber boot on the driver side shock. Will this cause any major problems?

It will reduce strut life, and if a big rock scars the pushrod, it's all over (will tear apart the strut's seal).

Do you have another picture? Fully extended with the wheel turned to the right. (same left strut)
Also, if you install the missing rubber piece, you will raise that corner.
