If you are using plain old carnauba wax, it will not fade your paint. A cleaner wax would if you waxed it ALOT, that is. I use Meguires Gold Class, or 3m...depending on my mood. I wax the car once a month. Unfortunately we are in a drought, so I have not washed or waxed it as of yet. As far as dawn and pamolive, it really doesn't matter. Just don't make a habit out of using that stuff too often...thats what they say, but I have washed cars with worse than that (comet...yup comet) and it did not harm the paint. You would be suprised on how durable your paint actually is. As for the comet thing, I would not recommend doing, It was an experiment on a car that was on its way to the salvage yard.

I waxed mine for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I have had the car for just over 2 years (bought it new).
I should have done it sooner, but I had some :bs: paint protection applied by the dealer and they said that I couldn't polish or wax it. It got to the point where I couldn't stand it any more and had to polish and wax it. The results were well worth it.
I plan to do it every 6 months. I could not imagine why you would want to do it any more often than every couple of months - unless you live in very harsh environment, or it's parked outside all of the time.

As often as time and weather permits, which ends up being every 2 months.
Mine is parked outside all the time.. im in Kansas and dirt accumulates on the car in about two days.. minus the bird ****. If your car just has dirt on it why not just dust it off with a soft brush of some sort?
don't wip e your car unless it is wet..otherwise you scratch the surface
