I have read rumors of a makeover! ... i definatly will put the 03 tail or headlight on my 02 if they look good!

Don't celica usually go for about 6 years?

That would be interesting.. but I somehow doubt it will be anything drastic... maybe a slight change... only because the car isn't that old yet.. and still looks pretty eye catching..

I guess this begs the question, when did we start seeing the 01 and 02 models during the year.
Know what I mean? when would the expected turnover dates be for the 03 to actually start coming when someone orders a new celica instead of them getting an 02.
Usually they put the new ones out in september, thats when they told me the first shiipments of 02s came in atleast when I was buying mine.

The 6th gen wasn't. Or did it have a mid production "slight" change? cuz that' thing was around since '94.........

i bet you Toyota will just make red/clear taillights (like they did for the Sienna), and different headlights (maybe 3 projector, or black housing).
Now that would be sweet!
BTW POKGIA what suspension do you have ???
I must know i saw the movies and i like the drop!

Hasn't anybody realized yet to don't believe anything until there is official announcement or when they start production? We'll find out in Sept when the 03 models come out

if somethin does come out it will probably be a facelift in 2003.
if u look at the previous model facelift they only changed the wing and front bumper design. there wouldnt be much point changing anything drastic like headlights on our model since it looks gr8 already. i predict a bumper redesign, and re-arrangement of the rear light cluster. maybe new trim patterns on seats too.
IMO

Toyota betta stick with this design until at least 2005... i mean, slight changes are expected though. Tail lights, headlights, etc.. juss like the Eclipse..

That iron 3S block is too heavy, it would offset some gains in power, and kill weight balance.

And doesn't fit in the ZZ engine mount locations without special fabrication.
If Toyota keeps the 5-year cycle, a mild refreshening isn't due until 2004.

That would mean admitting a "mistake" , Toyota USA is not going to do that......

Well they don't have to publicly say they fixed the glitch.. just like they didn't publicly say they made the glitch :)

which part....the fact you can get a TRD supercharger for it (and with a K&N intake and TRD exhaust, make 240 bhp at the wheels or 273 at the crank)???
I personally like the 2002 Tailights over the 1999-01 ones.

Guy I work with has one with a V6 supercharger, 5spd, TRD body kit, suspension, wheels, etc. Looks awsome and DAMN does it move... But the handling is still not nearly of Celica quality.

I'd sacrifice handling for power anyday...I only drive on highways anyway.

toyota was concidering adding the covertable to the line up in2k4 but its prob not going to happen cuz acura and honda arent going to do it to the civic and the rsx so they dont need to add a car that might not sell

They already have the Solara convertible and the MR2 Spyder. Then again, how many different SUV's do they have?
