I was reading all the threads on the forum and I think I might decide on getting nitrous for my car. I was planning on getting the NX 50 shot kit with the GEN 2 kit. But I was reading on the forum though, but it seems like nitrous is too much for our cars in 1st and 2nd gear, like we get no traction. Is this true? If so, how do we even launch the car and what happens in every gear, etc.? Or is it because of the cheap stock tires that come with our cars? And currently, I'm on the stock clutch, will have to upgrade the clutch any time soon or should I just the 35 shot kit instead? Also, I was wondering if I would be able to install the nitrous kit myself? And last question, what else do I need with the 50 shot NX kit /w GEN 2? I remember reading about a window switch or something, what is that? Thanks.

Traction: Get a window switch
Install:Have a pro shop do it
Window Switch: Acticates and de-activates the nitrous and certain RPMs
good luck

when i had my miata, shooting a 65HP shot in 1st gear was pushing it.. you were liable to snap the rear end in half. and i would think the same with this car, since this car revs so insanely fast in first you might snap some teeth off the gears, but hey people have been doing it for a while so i dont see any problem there.
yes traction can be a little bit of a problem but as stated above the window switch will help.
you should change your clutch and flywheel, because you are liable to fry your stock one.. well not on the 35 shot.. but i would do it just so that you have a clutch that grabs! the ACT one is nice.. get a fluwheel and an LSD while your at it..
and if you are asking us if you can install it yourself, then dont do it! nitrous is not something you want to screw up on.. its not hard, but if you are not sure of yourself then dont do it..
might want to invest in an A/F and nitro gauge as well..

the car can handle a 50 shot gear wise but traction is impossible if you spray in 1st which i did :) its not about the crappy stock tires, it about the instant torque that the car never had before..
clutch, use yer stock clutch until it goes, then upgrade :)
install, if you dont know the basics of nitrous have a pro shop install if for you..
window switch, well erad other posts in this forum search for the word mallory..

So how much of a difference can I expect from a 35 shot nitrous kit compared to stock, and 50 shot kit compared to stock and/or 35 shot upgrade?

I was also reading about WOT switch. So what does it actually do other than making sure that the ECU is running the car rich? And where would you get one?
The WOT Switch is supplied with the NX System

I cant tell you what youd expect from a 35 shot, it all depends on the driver really. figure 35 additional hp, thats what you can expect :)
as for the WOT switch, it makes sure your nitrous system only comes on at WOT meaning you wont run lean, nothing to do with the ECU.. it actually attaches to your throttle linkage and clicks open at WOT

50 shot is too much for 1st gear (do nothing but spin). 2nd gear seems to handle the hp/torque well. If you are not on good pavement you may get a little spin. I have found that you shift early from 1st to 2nd you can get into the power sooner. If you use 1st just to get the car moving then shift before you get to vvtl, then you can maximize you power and reduce your 1/4 mile time. My original clutch is still fine after over a year on nitrous. I agree with Larry, wait until the clutch goes, then get a performance clutch.

I have not taken my GTS to an official track yet, been too busy. I'm not really into 1/4 mile anyway, but it is fun every once in a while. I plan on going this summer to the local track, so I will post my times when I do.
