I was wondering if anyone had put 225/50/17 tires on their Celica. I currently have 225/45/17 and have had no issues with rubbing, and I have the opportunity to get a great deal on some 225/50/17 snow tires for my other set of rims (which are 17x7).
If you know for certain whether they would work or not, I'd appreciate some comments.

if you are lowered i think you may have problems the 50 sidewall is a little thick. thats really close to stock
It depends on your drop. I'd love to go up a series, into the 45's, but I occasionally rub with 40's and hard bumps/dips.

Alright, thanks for the info! I'm not lowered at the moment, but I'll hopefully be so pretty soon. I probably won't lower more than ~1.4" though. Maybe I'll get coilovers so I can raise the car for the winter (and taller snow tires)....
I'm on Tein S.techs, about 1.5" fully settled and on old struts. I've got 225/40/18 and like I said, I sometimes experience tire rubbing when dealing with bumps and dips.
