Bithlo Track: Friday

hey y'all, now that i got my header in, i'm headin' to the track. efren and i will be going on friday. if anyone wants to join us, please do :) the more, the merrier.

plus, is anyone going to the midnite drags out there? i believe the first one is on the 8th of june. if you don't know, they'll have the track open from 10 till 2 AM. but no timeslips. you have to go in there with a muffler too. 5 bucks extra to run. it'd be kinda cool.

cool beans, we're rounding up the ol' gang :) how about the alehouse on university?

i love my new headers. efren drove the car and he says he can tell a difference. the 80 bucks should be standard since it's only 1.5 hrs to install. if you want we can meet up and go together on weds to s3. i think i might get the hotchkis rear camber links they have but then i'mma need an alignment ASAP. i'll let you know by tuesday.

Luna, I can't make it Wednesday as I'm in Miami on business. Thursday is better for me, but I know you have stuff scheduled for Wednesday so don't worry about it. But I would be interested in doing the install on Thursday. Can you hook me up for then since you know the guys? You don't have to do this btw, I don't wanna impose :D Let me know gurl!

s3 will charge you 80 as she did her. they dont price descriminate unless they realized they under charged her. i for one wouldnt hve them do it. they are super slow, and dont realy treat customers too well.

I've heard both sides of the story Adam, Luna said they did it in 1.5 hours for 80 bucks. That doesn't sound bad at all. But, the guys at Enjuku had the same meaning about them in terms of them being a bit slow and so do some others I know.

in reference to weds - i'm not sure if i'm gonna get the rear links. and i think i might take friday off, so if you want me to go on thursday it's whatever but if i do go with the links i might be getting an alignment prior to the track...

in reference to the header install/s3 - well, it was 1.5 hours work time but i was there for about 3 hours. they had to move a couple of cars for me since they were working on some other cars for the show on sunday, plus the hail that fell saturday made all of them stop so they could move a bunch of cars to safety with the addition of more conversation between the mechanics and others.

if you're looking for a fast job then i guess i'd agree with adam here. personally i like hanging out there and bs'ing with the people there. it's called building rapport and therefore a relationship. i see them treat other customers differently. i dunno, they treat me nice but i guess y'all would say is cuz i'm a girl. personally, i would get as much work done in terms of installation cuz they're cheap and i can trust them. but's me and hey i could be crazy.

well rapor with them doesnt mean a whole lot. they are overpriced to begin with. somethings there are a good deal, but some isnt. ask jonathan he can tell you.

overpriced that's for damn sure. i do concur here. i wouldn't buy anything from there unless i knew nobody else had it and i really wanted it - and since they're pro-honda i don't think that'll be the case anytime soon. the only thing i've purchased is the hotchkis front strut bar which i have yet to see someone else get it as cheap than me (320 something bucks). i'm considering the rear camber links just cause they'll sell 'em at cost to me. i was talking to them about nitrous install and they said they'd do it for 175, and proceeded o ask if i'd place an order and i said no plainly cause i know i can get the kit and genx2 mad cheaper through nitrous warehouse or racesearch.

but hey gettin' back to the whole header thing, it's up to you. you can either try installing it yourself or taking it somewhere else - personally i don't know many other shops that are as cheap as them. titan motorsports/velocityresources = expensive. speed & truck world = call in advance for an appt; i'm not keen on them. i dunno it's up to you big guy. good luck :)

Fin its idiot work serisouly. you saw what came in the box. the header, 2 new screws to go in the flange between the mid pipe and header, the flange gasket type peice, and the spacer. that is it. its brain less. then all there is left is unscrewing like 6 bolts total, then doing the reverse. why do you think it came without instructions, its that easy! you can do it in 2 hrs with a socket wrench.

At any rate when are you installing your s-afc you dork? i just got some vampire clips as edrick instructed me too, and some wire crimps. i am going to redo the wiring so its not just electrical tape heaven :).

this car is the easiest by far to modify as far as simplicity goes. second behind this car would be a mustang. hmm well i think i need to do some home work now so i am off.

I don't know. Maybe it's different on the GT-S so correct me if I'm wrong. I was under the impression that you have loosen the motor mount to pull the engine forward just so you can pull/put in the header. Just what I thought. Let me know.

yeah dan its completly different. you have alot more space. you unbolt the midpipe, rest it aside, unbolt the header, pull it out from the bottm, then replace it with the hs header using stock header gasket

i don't think you'll terribly mess up your car by going to the track. if you're that concerned put a mask on the vehicle. will you be attending friday's soiree?

hey guyz im from down in sarasota but i wanna go up to bithlo tonite.. is there anything i should know bout this place? like what time does everythign happen and like what are the rules and such.. is there a website i can go look at the stuff. thanx

Hi Ally, the best thing is to get there real early because it gets quite packed. Bring 10 bucks for the whole night. And yes, it's per person.

Rules are simple: get in line, get on the track when it's your turn making sure you don't run through the bleachwater that the muscle cars use (too slick for us street tire peeps) wait till you get 4 yellow lights. Go on green and just punch it. Stay straight and concentrate. That's it. Very simple. Call us if you come down, we're going out to dinner afterwards. 407-701-5203

Ally, it doesn't matter how new you are to this thing, just come to hang out. We're a good bunch of people. Some people are quick to flame here and it obviously does not do any good. You'll be accepted no matter what, we all have something in common, our cars! With early I mean around 6-6:30.

Sarasota??? That's pretty far. A good 2 1/2 to 3 hours from the track. I hope that it'd be worth it for you to come up here. It sucks cuz right now it's raining! :bang: :mad:
