View Full Version : Colors for Spec Blue Mica..

What colors do you all think would look good on parts for a Action Package Spec Blue Mica?
I want to keep the interior black/dark I like that. Maybe I would change the lights but not the other parts.
What I'm wondering about is parts under the hood and brake calipers.. I'm thinking either a matching blue, or red... So things like a CAI and coloring the plastic covers. Might be hard to find the right color blue, so I think Red would be best plus that would match the calipers the best. I dunno how a red CAI would look though. Anyone have pics?
Opinions?

I say keep it simple. Do dont try to integrate red into it, spiderman anyone? amiright? For spec blue, I would do black. Paint the engine plastics 202 black, along with the calipers, center console, and anything else. Maybe you can try carbon fiber, but that gets expensive.

Black huh? I dunno about black calipers, I like them to stand out more... The engine compartment may work black though.

If you just paint your stock calipers red, I wouldn't do it...if you get a BBK and it's red, that's different. I just can't see too much red with spec blue looking good unless it's all been painted professionally and it's a dark shade of red...

I agree on that. I planned to paint my calipers but I realized stock painted red calipers wouldn't look as good. Maybe then until I can afford quality calipers, I'll paint my stock ones black... on the other hand this is my only car and I can't afford to be without brakes haha
Edit: On a side note, if I get after market calipers I like the long ones. They look so much better..

Probably stock.
Imo, on a spectra blue celi, go with either gunmetal, silver or black. Those are all nice, subtle colors that will flow well. I can't imagine red looking good at all (like someone said, it'll look very spiderman  ). White is too bright, and I've seen some people do yellow, and it looks weird.

My interior has red gauge, clock, A/C, and soon to be gear indicator, with a blue headunit. It looks sweet.

It's all personal taste.
Kenny seems to like the red and blue so all we can do is give you our opinion.

blue with blue. however the blue brake painting kit is too light so it doesnt match. until i get a new BBK i am going to go for a darker more matching blue and sand the current stuff off. also my theme is Blue/Black/Carbon fiber for inside and out

That's not bad, maybe blue isn't so bad.
I agree with the blue/silver/black/gunmetal idea. I just need to choose one now...
I suppose you could also do a combo for the calipers... Have one part blue and the other part sivler.

I kinda like red calipers on spec blue, but I definitely agree with Black in the engine bay and other trim.

Yeah I still kinda like red calipers, they look good on any color. As long as nothing else is red it shouldn't look like spiderman..

well the spec blue is kinda dark anyways so a little red won't hurt, but I could see a lot of red accents and maybe interior stuff looking like spider man... or maybe a NY Giants car lol. I actually have red calipers on mine and it looks pretty nice stock I would show you but I don't have any pictures of it yet.

Yeah. I do like that blue caliper look. But I'm afraid it would be too hard to find the right shade of blue.
Silver isn't bad but with slotted/driller rotors it would just blend in.
Black would also just blend in with tires/black rims.

only issue with red is red calipers normally represent big brake kit and it is often seen that painting yours red you are trying to pass them off as brembo or trd bbk. i dont care either way but thats always the comment

I'd get slotted/drilled or just slotted. All drilled doesn't look right to me.

Going two tone is good, but other color the blue color should be used as just accent..
If you have too much color for both color.. it will be just over killl
