View Full Version : TYC Taillights Question

I have seen two celicas around my area with their TYC bulbs different than mine. Wondering what everone else says. Is the Top-Oval shaped slot the blinker or is the Circular slot the Blinker?

I don't know since I don't have them, but I would guess the blinker should be the circle and the oval the brake light. That's how I would definitely put it. I would rather have people see that I am braking more than turning.

well if u look at the stock it is brake light at top and blinker in the middle. I guess u could change it around and be different... but i voted for brake top, blinker middle.

Both bulbs fit and are interchangable. If you want to keep it traditional, put the brake bulb at the very top.

you guys are guessing like the other cars have it. To me I think of the oval as being a blinker because you can see it from the side better, where only people behind you need to see the brake.
Also I kinda like the cobalt look at night, but im strange like that.

i got TYC reds like a months ago and was wandering the same thing.

In the end i used the top oval for blinker as it can be seen from the side and the mid circle as the brake light.

Another reason i did it like this is coz the mid circle looks way nicer at night i think. So far no one has had a problem with it

I have tycs, and I thought about that..., but it doesn't fit if you try to do it with the brake light in the middle...,:wtf:, and i have tried this!

?? it fits just fine to use the brake in the middle. They are the same sized socket. The assumption is that brake is at top becasue, on the versions that are not all red lenses, have an amber lense int he middle portion and red at the top and therefore you have to do it brake top. I think only some chromes came like that where most are all red lenses inside. Therefore the intention of tyc would be to have brake on top.
