Does anyone know any good lawyers in the Greenville, SC area or that will service that area? I have recently acquired a reckless driving ticket because a cop accused me of racing when I wasnt. I posted the story on here, but I believe it got removed due to lack of title. The story is below:

"The situation is I was going down a 4 lane 45mph zone road with no one else on it except a '77 280z which I had just had a chat with on the side of the road. Well he goes flying past me and ends up about 500-1000ft ahead of me when I see the blue lights flick on and he slams on the brakes and slides onto a curb. I casually a stop in the median so that the cop doesnt try to come after me and to see if he is ok (granted i stopped before he did without skidding). The cop puts his spot light on me and tells me to pull back to him, which i did and shut off my car. He requests I bring my license to him and stand in front of his car. He then claims we were both going 68mph in the 45mph zone and that we were racing, which I don't see how in he could be so far ahead of me and we were racing but going the same speed. He then has both of us pull into the median and writes us both a reckless driving ticket and him a lack of insurance ticket for not having his documentation with him. Now I may have been speeding, but I dont believe I was going as fast as he was, and nor did i skid out and hit a curb. I have a feeling with a lawyer this one will be pretty easy to get out of, but what do you guys think?"

I looked up some lawyers that handle traffic cases in the phone book and none of them sounded interested in dealing with this at all. Please help guys.

Sorry.. I don't know of any.. But it sounds like a lawyer might do you good... At best though they will reduce it to a speeding ticket..(which is still not great bit better than a R.D. ticket..)

If you have a decent or great drivign record you will have no problem winning this one..

A cop can't clock two cars speed at once. My dad ( cop for 20+ yrs.) got himself out of a ticket this way. I don't know any lawyers, but you should get out of this with no problem.

That's B.S. like Barry said the cop can't clock to people at one time, When I wrecked my first car back in 97' the cop gave me a ticket for driving on the wrong side of the roadway, I explained to the judge that I hit the tree on the right side of the road and on the front right side of my car and their was no way that could have happend he then asked the cop about it and made the cop look like a fool. you should have no problem winning this one but a lawyer may be helpful

Thanks guys, someone at work had brought that point up, but they wernt sure if they could clock two at once or not. Being that I was in the back and didnt skid off the road he had no justification to pull me over and I know I wasnt going the same speed as the other guy. Even when he had us both pulled over he directed all his hard proof to the other guy and kinda glanced at me with the accusation that I had done the same "you were too." I really hope I can get out of this one, insurance is bad enough as is. Thanks.

It wasn't my fault, the steering wheel broke or at least that's what it looks like from the pictures,

Haha, that reminds me of the time I was in Russells 78 Camaro.
He punced it real hard in first gear and when it barked the tires in second, it hit so hard that it pulled the bolts that held the drivers seat out of the rusty floorboard. He went flying into the backseat. It was scary, but funny as hell as I'm trying to pull his car over to the side of the road from the passenger seat while he's laughing his ass off in the backseat. LOL
