Hey guyz,

I found a 2002 JDM GTS engine that just arrived from japan yesterday. its running 40000km. it looks really clean and new. Im thinking of buying this engine since JDM are better and installing all my mods on it but before i do that i have to make sure if its compatable with my car.

my car is a 2002 American GTS engine.

i know for one the ECU will have to be changed. if i go for a PFC will this solve the problem? or is the PFC only made for american specs. this is a list of my current mods mixed with what im going to install very soon.

- All OEM sensors
- neukin manifold
- walbro fuel pump
- MWR Stroker kit
- MWR valves and springs
- APR bearings
- Smaays return system
- 630cc injectors
- Iridium spark plugs
- Methanol+Water Injection system

I think you will have to get a diff PFC, as american engines are different.

I wasn't aware of a difference between the USDM and the JDm 2zz's. How is the JDM one better?

It would be like the European version.. Mine is a jap import and its got the digital climate control which is different, and also has the arial on the roof rather then on the back of the car..

yeah...neither of which is the engine. So I ask again, why is the JDM engine better?

Same exact engine, buddy. Only the ECU's are different.

Its because it's overnighted from Japan. Thats what makes it better.

If you want the extra toys, just buy the toys, don't waste your money anything else.

However, I think the Sport-M had a slightly different motor, but don't quote me on that. It was still a 2zz with a built short block, good for a whole 10hp or something retarded like that.

I take it all ECU's in Japan have a speed limiter of 120 mph on them. (Just what I heard).

Hi guyz,

I found a really tight JDM engine coming straight from japan. Has 35000k on it and its a 2002 GTS just like my car!

What will i have to change with it???

Any idea if the power fc and after market internals (stroker kit, wisco pistons, sleeves, rods, beaerings, cam shafts).... fit and operate well??????

yaeh the only reason why im getting it cuz the dude is a good friend of mine and is offering me it for 500$ :D at least its 50000km less my current engine.

why is it that some mechanic told me about sensors having to be changed and that all my after market internals and externals (turbo manifold..) wont fit on jdm! sounds like someone was trying to rip me off?

both jdm and usdm are the same motor only difference is the tune on the ecu.
