Got an auto 08 xD. It looks cool though and has all kinds of bling, color changing interior lights, instantaneous and avg MPG, Distance to empty, a nice sound system, XM satellite radio and a few other things. Its actually fairly decent in the handling department and nimble too, but I am slightly underwhelmed by the turning radius. All in all a good car and it rides well, but it really could use another 50 HP or so.

I see in the future that those hvac controls could turn into some gauge pods.

Its staying stock. I may use it to R&D a few parts, but I won't have it more than 8 or 9 months most likely.

Nice, where did you get it from?

I was considering waiting for these to come out, but I decided on the xB instead.

The Scion fairy left it under my pillow - talk about waking up with a crick in your neck!

B*tch took the Tundra in exchange though... :D

The xB is the better of the 2 IMO - way more power and more room. The xD is less expensive, more nimble and better on gas, and a TOUCH better looking IMO (I still think the xB looks great though)

Its actually quite nice - comfortable, more room than my wifes old xA or the Yaris had, and I've always preferred hatchbacks to sedans.

I'll post a couple more pics of the interior in a bit

Nice. So it's a 1.8 Liter engine ehh...

Do I smell a 2zz swap? :D I posted that up in the Scion xD forum in scionlife, most of the grocery getters thought it was a stupid idea.

But if all these K swaps are going in these little Fits...then there's gatta be somethin going there...

I've thought about it - thought about 2AZ swap too. We'll see.

I wouldn't waste the time and money on a 2ZZ swap. Boost. More HP for the $$$$$$.

It's Pioneer. I opted for the upgrade in my box to this one over the stock Pioneer. Aside from the OLED display, there are some sound differences. The main reason why I wanted to get this one is that it has 3 sets of pre-outs (F/R/S). Plus, it looks a whole heck of a lot better than the matte black base unit.

Congrats. I was going to say get some decent rims, but there's no point.

Ahh! Haha, I was saying, that didn't look like something Toyota would put in a car flat stock.

The "stock" radio looks like shiet. Imagine the radio out of a 1998 Chevy Lumina, that's pretty much what you get as far as the base option.

Yeah its pretty plain, but its an auto so you only use the knob once or twice per drive cycle. :D

Yeah it kinda does doens't it.

I'm actually really enjoying the car. The power has picked up a bit now that the engine is breakign in and the handling / dartign through traffic factor is just awsome.

I guess Toyota did a small car good this time, unlike the Yaris and xA that didn't score well in the handling dept. I have a feeling I'm gonna be seeing a lot of those around here pretty soon.

OT: Good thing you don't live here, Scions are now considered the "de riguer" cars for (drug)pushers here. Seems they have really embraced the mark.

Figured I would do a 3 month 4200 mile update.

I like the car quite a bit more than I did when I got it. I don't know if it was an ECU learning thing, the colder weather, or the engine breaking in, but it is WAY peppier than when I first got it. I've actually beat a few cars off the line and I don't hesitate to take an open lane knowing I will probably get out ahead of the average guy now. (Not because the tC is faster per se, but because most people don't leave a stoplight at WOT)

We've had the car on a 210o mile round trip road trip for Xmas with 2 adults, 2 kids in carseats and a rediculous amount of luggage and I was VERY pleased to note that acceleration and braking did not seem to suffer noticeably from the extra load. It did take a bit of creativity to fit everything we wanted to bring though. We're averaging about 27-28 MPG which is pretty damn good considering the way I drive and the average cruising speeds of about 80-85 MPH.

Anyways another road trip to Florida is in store for 2 weeks from now. This time we're looking at about 2600 miles total. We'll see how it goes.

Cliff notes - very pleased with the car, its picked up some nice power and is quite fun to drive.

Those are two other Toyotas that I am interested in. I think the X-Runner is a more feasible choice, however if the Mazda Demios/2 comes out, that might make me change my mind.

Might I recommend picking up a FIVEaxis lip kit, it will definitely enhance the styling cues of the xD. You can pick it up at your nearest Scion Dealer through the Optomize Program

Yaris hatch with a 5 speed is a blast to drive in traffic.

The Fit was originally called the City and the K series is only 2 years old. So they haven't been doing it too long.

The City was actually based on a Fit Aria which came with a completely different body that looks more like a Civic. The underpinnings were a Fit/Jazz though.

almost 8000 miles on the xD now and I placed my order for a 2009 Matrix XRS with a 5 speed manual in red. I'm not 100% if I'll get it exactly like I ordered but I hope so. I should have it within a week or two.

The xD has been a great car, but I'm looking forward to the increased power, torque, and interior room in the Matrix. Not HUGE increases but they should be quite noticeable.

they have the same dual VVTi motor that the xD does in base trim. My XRS will have the 2.4 Liter from the Camry, TX, xB, etc.
