s-afc is a air/fuel controling modual. it basicallyy lets u control how much air/fuel u use. does it give u have hp? well, if u get it tuned at a shop, u will get shome power out of it. i remember long time ago, somebody got 8hp from a s-afc. i think it was ctkrider, not sure tho...

An SAFC controls the amount of fuel and air you use...if you get it properly tuned on a dyno you might be able to get a little bit of a gain, but don't expect anything huge. From what I have read on these boards, most people get a 2-3 hp gain. Although some people with a lot of mods already will get a much larger gain. Really, from what I have seen, it really isn't necessary unless you have a lot of mods, or have forced induction, which it looks like you plan on doing.

Actually, the whole reason I got it was to tune out the ugly bog between shifts and at 4500rpms to 6100rpms....now I have no fluxuations in rpms and a smooth power curve....but it did give me 4 hp.....It can give you more with the more mods you have. I have yet to see what the AFC will give me with my CAI and my Kazuma exhaust (just ordered).
