I have a stock 2003 GT. Would it be stupid if I put a blow off valve on my celica. Everything is stock and I think it would be cool to have the blow off valve sound without the supercharger, or am I completely wrong? Someone please explain all this to me.. Thanks

They have a number of box and loudspeaker setups they sell on e-bay that make the sound every time you shift. Here is the link to one:

Its much cooler if you also add a sticker from a turbo company and you also say "VTEC just kicked in YO" every time it goes off.

How cool would it be to have a VTEC logo light up on the dash and a voice come on inside the cabin thats say "VEEE Tec" in a thundering loud deep voice every time you engaged it?

With the right wiring, I think I could make that happen

This doesn't have anything to do with knowing anything about performance. It's...common sense.

Yes, you are completely wrong. What's the point of trying to pretend you're F/I when everyone will be able to tell you're obviously not?

Alright, lets step back and explain a few things to him.

The purpose of a show-off valve is to release excess pressure from a forced induction application. Such air comes out at high pressure through a narrow opening, thus why you get the sound. That's all it is. N/A applications aren't producing enough pressure to merit the need for what you're describing. That's the functionality explanation for you.

Now, second thing you need to understand. Those who have blow off valves and show them off are a prime target for the police. You drive an N/A car, and a BOV is advertising you're turbo'ed. My past few cars have been turboed and in every single one of them, I try my hardest to make the BOV NOT produce any sound. Its very foolish to advertise those things. Its like putting nitrous stickers all over your car when you start running a nitrous kit.

To answer your question: Yes, it's incredibly stupid to do so, and incredibly rice. Like you would be the quintissential ricer if you followed through with this. You're going to draw alot of attention to yourself and have absolutely nothing to back it up.

CUSTOM MADE FO THE CELICA YO!

Would you like to add the high pitch "spool" tone that adjusts with your rpm range to your normally aspirated vehicle for just the fraction of the price of turbo??

Do you want the sound but cannot afford $3,000+??

Do you want your slow car, or even fast car, to sound even faster??

Or do you just want a great gift to give for the holidays??

THEN ADD THIS NEW JAPANESE VELOCITY-TECHOLOGY TO YOUR RIDE!!

I suppose you never ran a sreamer pipe on any of your cars then either? hahahah. Now thats an attraction to police.
