Looking to hook up with some other NZ celica owners as there ain't much demand for hot gear from us so none of the shops seem to get the stuff in. I've been waiting three weeks for Mag and Turbo to quote on a CAI.

Mag and Turbo quoted me $220 for a Simota CAI.

Whats the simota CAI like? Do you notice any performance gains? I'm trying to liven up those flatspots just before the power bands. Stage one is to go for the CAI then i'm going to look at the exhaust.

I did'n't buy the Simota CAI, I just don't like it, I doubt it gives the same performance gain as the other brands.

My friend have it on his riced out Civic, it's piping was a ulgy big fat red pipe, go to mag and turbo's web site to have a look , my friend call it "big sauages" (not for the Celicas I hope).

I'm looking for K&N CIA (you know do they make one? It's easier to get K&N in NZ)


I'm looking for exhaust too, I've got a quote from TRD NZ which is $1750 + shipping! They over-priced too toooo much IMO. (You can get one form the States for $550USD which is around $1250NZD, that's 40% higher! Of cause you need to pay for shipping as well, that's why I didn't get it there.)

I'm in Auckland. I've had mine since year 2000, and its always been hard to get parts for our car here, especially with the number of grannys driving it around town.. (no offence to the elders)

Try ordering parts from Oz, or from some specialist who can order from Japan. I got my CAI from USA, cost me an arm...
