Which one would win in a drag race? I have a 2002 GT manual with only injen rd cai while my friend owns a base TL 2002 automatic. Here is the specification of the Acura TL for comparison.
Engine Type 3.2-liter 24-valve VTEC

i think the acura is going to win a 1/4mile run.
i think a stock gt-s(6speed) "would" have a hard time vs the tl, from what i've seen they are low 15-high14 sec cars stock and that were the gt-s is. gt would most likely lose, but anything can happen.

nice....
but the gt-s should win

a stock gt-s might be close, but it's always about the driver. you'll need a great launch to beat one of those things. if you're modded...you shouldn't have that much trouble, but like i said....the launch is important or you'll find yourself playing catch-up.

Mind that the TL is base and not Type-S
Also that I have a base GT w/only a CAI Intake
but here 3 are different quarter mile times i've found for the tl
15.7 @ 91.2 mph
15.9@88.7mph
1/4-mile in 16.6 sec
3.2 TL

i find that the 3.2 TL base is slow.....
haven't raced alot of cars but i remember being very close to one of those caveliers with manual transmission....
back then i still had my spare tire, jack, and wrenches in the trunk......
now i got them out and should be a little quicker

Trying to be a post whore? lol what is the weight of the Acura, that matters too! Our Celica's are light as hell, the acura even with a larger engine might have twice the weight as us!

Hahaha the TL is my moms too........
but the 2000 base model is lighter than the 2001 base model by 13 kg's.......
and the 2000 model looks like its got more aerodynamics.......
....... but they are still heavy

are these TL's used to race now?
oh well, whatever makes you happy i guess,
i usually see peeps in early 30s in those cars, not really the racing type (unless they let their kids borrow the car)
