Painting Question

Hey all,

I painted my side skirts the other weekend because they were looking faded and were unpainted to begin with. (stock celica w/o trd kit)

Anyway the other day I got a little gas on the side of my car, and it trickled down onto the skirt where I painted.

It wiped off the car just fine, but the side skirt became sticky.

My question is, is there a special kind of clearcoat that is used on cars to make it basically "paint thinner" proof? I used a clearcoat from Pepboys that was for painting car parts?!?

Just wondering.

Did you clear coat them or just paint them?

Sorry, just read you cleared. I'm guessing it was't fully cured yet, what brand of clear was it? Get some from dupont if you can.

What did you use to paint them? I'm looking to paint mine (blue) to match as well but didnt want to spend a lot of money at a shop.
