Okae heres the scoop... went down to West Covina Toyota today to take off my rims and David and I went to my battered car and did some looking around. We had a T/3 turbo lying around so we kinda just were conseptualizing. Upon looking Dave asked if he could borrow the car for a few weeks after or before I do bodywork. I agreed so hopefully tomorrow the car will get flat-bedded to the shop where the turbo will be installed. Looks like we got a winner this time... big thumbs up to Double D and the boys. Give us a few weeks we will keep you updated.

i talked to dave a couple weeks ago and he said they were planning on including bigger injectors, and possibly a return line system to the kit, which meant a bigger fuel pump and maybe a pressure regulator...is this still gonna happen or did things change?
Oo DaRk StAr oO
06-05-2002, 12:08 AM
most likely we wont need a return line, injectors yes!

Good news out of this. I got a reply from Crower. They are going to do a partial sponsorship on a set of rods for the 1ZZ. Looks like ill strap those on too!!!

Rods are good for over 15psi......Your car won't run faster with them unless they are light weight aluminun or titanium...They'll help you make your engine bullet proof....+'s forged slugs, metal head gasket, iron sleeves,etc......Even with all this if you dont tune it right It can blow-up...But that's a good addition to your part's Good job....

I'm sure Dave will handle the tuning aspect well.

So the WC turbo is going to go on a semi-prepped 1ZZ engine? Great. How are we going to know how it performs on a stock engine?

In three weeks you will tear down the motor and install the new rods/pistons, mount up the new turbo kit, tune and publish results?

let's say i know this guy *wink wink* who'll guinea pig the turbo on a pretty much stock internal car...only have exhuast and intake, but that's gone with the turbo anywayz.

Yeah but this time its a company that is dedicating themselves to making it happen... not like the other place we were @ but hey... we'll see!
Oldster... the rods wont be on. Crower won't ship me the rods for a while so were gona do this first. So I will be all stock except Veilside exhaust.

That's a good idea. It's best not to create all that hype (like last time) and have nothing to show for it (like last time). When everything's all done, then drop the info on all of us. Good luck, man.

You got it. I lost a lot of respect from peeps and it took me a while to get it back. Problem was last time we did this I was a newbie!!! Had only been on the board since November... think i've grown a bit since then. So if you guys need anything holla back!!!

hey matt,
first off i'd just like to say, great job on keeping us informed. i am just making sure that this kit will cross-over to the corolla platform without any problems. as you might know, the corolla came with both a vvti ('00-'02) and a non-vvti ('98-'99) version, and they use different intake sensors (the vvti came with a maf sensor, the same one i believe comes on your celis). can you ask mr. draper if he needs a test corolla? anyway, have a nice day.

The Corolla's are on our Turbo plans. Ill ask Dave on what that plan on it.
