it's about a 10 mile road. there's a bunch of small parking lots on the side. the road just ends and then you got to turn around.

Os this definately going to be in the park or should we hold it in the parking lot when you enter seaside. It will be free to park there. If we go into the state park it will cost $7 and if you want to go to the beacj later by the boardwalk it will run another $5 or so. Why not skip the $7 cost to begin with?

Free is good for the meet -- just so the accomodations (parking lot) are OK vs. what we would be paying for...I'll leave that up to the people that know the area. How about beach access? Does that cost as well? Sun, sand, and girls :)

i rather pay $7 to park next to the beach where my car would be safe than park in a parking lot far from the beach ...
the park has free parking all day long ...the lots are right next to the beach and you can have a BBQ on the beach.
if you park in the street your far away from your car....it's gonna be crazy to check all the cars out and you have to pay for parking ($.25 each 25 min) and you also have to pay to get to the beach
$5 each....and no BBQ on the beach....

all the parking spots have meters. and the big lots outside of the park are charged by the hour.
free parking is more then 6 blocks away from the boardwalk.

the best place is in the park, all the cars can be together and we can have a BBQ. outside of the park all of us probably won't be all parked together.

Now there's some word from someone that knows the place. nd4spd 4 a gt-s, how far is the park and our prospective parking lot from a "populated portion" of the beach, meaning the main section used for beach recreation? I'd love to find a big lot on the grounds as you suggested and be able to walk to the beach.

Now, how about safety of the cars? Just like at HIN, there's problems in lots with vandalism and wheels removed, etc. What can be done, beyond hiring our own security, to ensure this doesn't happen? I'm more than willing to split some vandals' heads open, but I'd rather have clean fun at this meet. Hopefully the park has mobile (car, horse, golf cart, whatever) security and maybe cameras to keep an eye on the goods. If security is not sufficient, we may have to get together some 20's and stuff the pocket of a guard to hang around the lot.

you can see your car from the beach in the park. but outside of the park you won't be able to see the car from the beach. your never going to find a parking lot outside the park that can accomedate 30+ cars, also if you park on the streets were never going to be able to park together.

our best bet is to pay $7 to park in the park. :wiggle:

If its not a formal group BBQ, I'm sure we can all live out of coolers for food and da' drink, but a central food area will bring everyone together and make it more of a social event. Either way is cool with me.

OK, so where exactly in this park are we gonna meet? I checked an arial view map, and there are two huge lots in the center of the island. I would assume that would be the best place to meet since I'm sure we could get a lot of parking spots in one area, plus it's right on the beach (other smaller lots are separated by trees and shrubs).

I can post an arial map of the entire island if anyone wants.

So what I gather, the lot is close to the beach :) That is good. Let's find the biggest lot (spoken of earlier) and park. For those that show first and early on, it may be helpful for those to understand the distance the chosen parking lot is from the main entrance (unless its right at the entrance) so we can collect the group with no confusion.

the first large lot sounds right...it's no more than 3 miles from the entrance and you can see it from the road.
blue bomber you should call the park and make sure that we can have the BBQ in the first large lot....

I was reading some info and reviews, and you need a permit to BBQ on the beach. It's only possible do to so on the areas that you can actually drive onto the beach (southern section). There are lots of flies on a bad day, too, and they bite! :eek: The reviews also said the park can get filled by as early as 11am, so maybe we should meet earlier?

On the upside, there are places that sell fast food in the two big lots (central section), along with bathrooms.

why not start the meet at 11am-1pm anyone can arrive there between these times. someone is going to have to be there at 11 :) i won't be getting there till about 12:30-1.

how about this.... we all meet in the huge parking lot 1. we stay there till about 5pm . then evryone gets in there car and we all drive together to a resturant. Imagine 30+cars crusing around seaside ;)

there's plenty of resurants around. there's a few before seaside. we go there and eat, then after that every will crusie back to seaside and find a place to park. then everyone can go on there own and do what ever they want....sound like a plan?

i know there's parking little farther away from the boardwalk. you park near the beach. pay by meter's and you can walk to the seaside boardwalk.

Sounds good. I can be there by 11 since I only live like a half hour to 45min away.

I also like the idea of cruising to a restaurant. I can set up a video camera in my car and get some videos of it. The only thing is finding a place with 30+ empty parking spots! :rolleyes:
