They're supposed to help stop wheel hop, and the loss of power from the motor jurking back and forth when shifting. I think c-one makes some for our cars.

I have the Energy Suspension inserts and they are great. If you want to eliminate wheel hop and make shifting smoother, and can also handle the extra noise/vibrations then get them.

I paid ~$50 to have both the front and rear motor mount inserts installed. I read horror stories on the install of the rear motor mount and decided I was too lazy.

I just purchased some from the link above.
How bad is the extra vibration and noise?
on a scale from 1-10?

I think i'll install the front ones which everyone says is not to difficult and then let the shop install the rear mounts which everyone says is a BIOTCH to install. it shouldn't be more then 30 bucks :wiggle:

Vibration is ~4. My keys rattle at idle and so does the steering wheel. If you have change in the cup holder this could rattle around too. I have had this for about six months or so and I don't mind.

I put the energy suspension motor mounts in when I had the engine out, but it wouldn't be too bad to do with the engine in. The throttle response and wheel hop is why I did it on my GT, and on a scale of 1-10 vibration wise, i'd say 6, because I currently have a Legacy GT with Cobb block and all the bells and whistles, including Group N Sti motor/tranny mounts and its not bad at all, the Celica seems like its really shakin. This is a Celica GT and I've heard its not as bad on the GTS. But it makes it easier to modulate the clutch too, no wasted energy moving the engine. Its a cheap mod, just do it.

Do they eliminate wheel hop for good but or reduces it? At the drag with the grip juice my car jumped quite bad i thought my engine was going to fall out!

Tires have more to do with wheel hop than motor mounts.

agreed ^, I will do it to my car but helped install on a friends GT.....front went on in a breeze, rear gave us fits but eventually got it on.....sometimes it is hard to line up the hole perfectly, but use regular dish soap and its makes life much easier
