I'm still waiting to see someone drop one into an old Corolla.

BTW: Common swap is to drop these into the last gen MRS

You could drop this engine into a crate for pretty cheap :gap:

In all honesty, this engine isnt very popular outside the Toyota community. Even some people in this community dont really care to much about it.

I'd like to see a 2zz in an xA, xB, or Yaris hatch.

Actually, Id like to see it in a Yaris. I hate Scion..... because I believe they are the reason the Celica and MR2 are gone.

Also, the Yaris is 2300 lbs while the Scions....... well the XB has the aerodynamics of a shoe box and the other is heavier....actually... ALL Scions are heavy for I4 cars. 3000lb is NOT light at all!

No...a company scraps something if its not bringing them in the desired profit...

And actually the Scion's are making great headway in the aftermarket department..I've seen quite a few turbo ones in my area that are claimed to be in the 300+ whp club. It may hurt you to hear it, but the Scion is a success...in both the aftermarket and sales compared to the Celica...

If it continues to do well...it may just become one of their staples like the Corolla/Camry or Honda's Civics...

I still hate them with a passion even tho I already knew what you posted. My logic just lets me sleep easier at night :gap: . And I dont find them to be even remotely a good performance platform at all. They weight as much as an Eclipse, have the style of a sporty corolla, and are advertise to ricers galore! The Celica and MR2 were MUCH better performance wise for the chassis. If they had given the options as they did with Scion, they could have sold those two cars easy. Especially the MR-S. People are only just now catching on to how awesome it really is with the right parts that Toyota supplied *cough*2zz*cough*.

There is an ex Corolla XRS owner that did or is in the process of the 2zz into Yaris swap.
His sn is lifthard1.

Drop it in one of the older 1.0L 3dr hatches and it's gonna be a decently fast sleeper, since those have a curb weight of 1977 lbs. It will scare the hell out of the driver though everytime he realizes he sits at eyelevel with that lady in the RAV4 next to him :chuckles:
