View Full Version : Celica Mileage Stats - 10 month study

Hey everyone. I put together some mileage statistics for my celica. I thought people might like a little detailed information on how our car performs over the course of time.

This is a graph of Mileage Vs. Time. It shows the average miles per gallon every time I went to the pump.

You should notice that the monthly average hits a peak at nearly 32 mpg, and the lowest monthly average is 25 mpg in February of this year.

Does it account for when your stomping it between every light?

hehe...I am such a science teacher.

I just write down my mileage every time I refill the tank, and then I can calculate how much fuel I used to get another x miles on my car. It's really easy.

Yeah, I was very suprised and unhappy when I saw that it went only 22 mpg back in Feb. I am guessing it was a lot of short trips in cold weather (chicago)...because you can see the general trend in the mileage is going back up now that warmer weather is here.

The best it has ever done is 160 miles on only 4.00X gallons. That's roughly 40 mpg! ...but that was the very first long-range trip in the car...nearly only a week old. Oh well.
