I'm goin racing at VIR this coming weekend and I really wanted to video tape it, but couldnt figuer out how to make a camera mount. So I decided, "hey, im not retarded, I can figuer out how to make one on my own." So i did. Here are a few pictures, I was actually pretty proud of myself :gap:
First I decided that I should make it stretch between the 2 front seat belts, so I found a bunch of random parts scattered around my garage and began building.

I found that metal bracket and put it on the edge of a rock outside and used a rubber hammer to bend it at a 140 degree angle (or somewhere around there?).
After that, I took the seatbelt off from where it connects at the top and found a drill bit that was about the same size. Then I drilled a hole in the bracket so I could stick it behind the seatbelt.

Next I found these things that I have no idea what theyr called or how to describe, but you can see them in the picture. I drilled little holes in the bracket so I could attach them.

Then, I found 2 metal bars, one slightly bigger than the other, so the smaller one just fits inside the bigger one. I used a hacksaw to cut them to the length I wanted, so that I can slide one inside the other, position it, then slide it apart to go inside each of the brackets and fit perfectly.

Then I driilled another hole through the bar and the bracket so I can stick that pin i found through there, and then secure it through the top to make sure it doesnt go anywhere. Then I found an old camera tripod and cut part of it off so I can slide it onto the bar and secure it with a screw. And that's pretty much it, a good, sturdy camera mount. Doesnt block the vision (sits below the height of the rear window), and will hopefully work well.
