Hey guys,
How are you assembling the air filter piping with the neukin manifold.
Every way i try gives me the impression the pipe is gona roast, there is no space, or the filter is too restricted. dont give me this "search the forum" bull****, your help would be appreciated. If i happened to miss a thread, my bad, but i doubt!
Any pics of a successful setup with a neukin manifold would more than help
thanx

Well, I figured that out about halfway through the install...my solution was making an airbox for the turbo and supplying it air via a duct from the passenger side headlight...I then have some brake ducting channel the air from the headlight duct to the airbox via a SF intercooler piping route...I don't have any pics of the actual box, but I think I have a pic of the duct and the brake ducting that I can put up if you want

Sounds nuts!!! anything would help bro. it looks pretty tight in there. if only the downpipe was bent the other way around we could have had plenty space passing it through the battery/ECU.... makes me wonder if this was a mistake by neukin or they just know it and are too lazy to change things around.
did you use heat sheilds to tackle the heat on the pipe or ceramic coating?
any pics or information would help.
thanx allot bro

Yea the lack of space pretty much sucks, and I couldn't get any of the heat shields (besides the exhaust ones) to fit back....so basically I took some heat wrap blankets and riveted them to the firewall, my manifold and downpipe are both wrapped in DEI heat wrap and the airbox for the compressor housing has a heatshield out of aluminum with more heat wrap blanket on it to keep it from getting heatsoaked (or melting)...I also plan on putting two ducts on either side of the hood scoop in the hood to help draw out some of the hot air that builds up behind the engine....after the headlight duct my IAT's where significantly lower than when I was running the airbox alone (that and it keeps the f*cking mice out) ;)

I'll try and get pics...I'm at college right now, so I don't have my dig camera handy...I'll see if I've got some pics on the laptop tommorrow though

I havent done mine, but it looks like I'll have to weld an elbow to the turbo(cut cold side of turbo housing)

heh heh, you found my pictures...I don't have any pictures of the airbox at all, but I'll try and get some....though it's kind of in a tight space...and that gunk in the intercooler, that's a mouse, that's how my first turbo died

hahaha poor mouse :P
btw instead of the lights why didnt you relocate the water reservior for the window sprinklers and position the filter there? it comes away from all the heat aswell. The whole headlight thing gets me a bit hesitant.
please try get pics of the airbox and any mice that got their way in :P
thanx bro

That intake pipe diameter looks a bit on the small side...

It's about 2 3/4" plus the box has a filter on the front and outer face (facing towards the filter)...that tube goes to the top

Ahhh cool. That makes sense.
Love the new sig! Toyota fork trucks rock - I learned to drive a forklift on one.

Yea, it's an ARC-box style kind of thing...the reason I added the duct was because after running it awhile, the box could only get hot air and it would start to become heat-soaked, so I added the duct to give it some ambient air into it
Thanks, I was actually trying to find a pic I saw awhile back of a Toyota forklift hauling an EVO off the track after it blew its engine :chuckles:

hehe
ill post some pics of my car at the shop tmrw... we installed the neukin manifold today tmrw we are gona carry on with it. im presuming we are gona start with the piping by monday. as for the IC piping towards the inlet.... does it still pass from under the engine beside the oil pan?? my mechanic told me something crazy about bending the pipe "C" shaped, passing it across the intercooler across the outlet pipe into the turbo :S first the idea of a sharp bend like that doesnt work for me and the distance it will have to cover is insane. what have u done with the IC piping inlet side.
hoping you get pics of your airbox

im still anxious about how the piping is going to be.
I searched the forums, i saw how the intercooler piping from the inlet side of intercooler passes next to the oil pan and into the turbo. as for the filter location. were the hek will a filter fit lol? relocating the water sprinkler reservior and positioning it there???

Oh man, I forgot you still have all that crap on the side of the engine....see, with mine, my power steering resevoir, lines, ac, and washer crap is GONE...so I have alot more room to play with...

I haven't gotten under the car yet...I'm picking up some rod bearings on Monday (nothing's wrong, just preventative) and crawling under the car Tuesday...I'll be doing an install guide for the rod bearings so I'll definetly take some pics then
