Um, well....Prelude is Honda. Honda is not really our friend. But, I can say they have a great reliable history. Look at this...

are you an idiot ?
how is Honda not your friend? Honda is awesome. If it weren't for Honda nobody would have gutless FWD 4-cylinder riceburners in the first place.
How many miles a year do you drive? If it isn't much, just keep the Celica for now (or till you turn 18). Often times the devil you know is better than the devil you don't.

purchasing a nearly 12 year old car. Opening up a new can of worms if you ask me. Be very careful.

^^^ :werd:
Does your Celica have any problems? Buying a used car will usually result in added maintenance costs, since most people don't really care about their cars, and only sell them at that age to get rid of the problems the car has.

Hey preludes are pretty sweat. My buddy had a 93 prelude back in high school. It was his uncles old rally car. Had skid plates, roll cage, light bar, 5 point racing harness, kill switch, can't remember what the engine managemant system was, crazy suspension, you could out run a 4x4 f-150 on a trail no problem. But yea it was a great car. Go for it!
Be prepared to put in some wrench time though, nobody sells a good running car for no reason.

Keep in mind that when someone is selling a car there is a reason they are doing it. Although honda has a good track record for used cars.

Honda in my experiane have tranny problems, but the lawn mower engine under the hood will last forever!!! "this is my experiance w/ them" good luck.

the prelude sh are the ones I would buy, the si doesn't really appeal to me. But still the newer preludes are pretty expensive for an old car.

I don't know why, but to me the 97-01 look way better to me. Plus you don't have to worry about finding the better package, because they both came with the nicer H22 engine.

ok not all the pre 97 ludes came with the H22...just want to clear that up because I keep reading people saying that, when it's false and an older h22 lude is much harder to find..

Ummm... thats not what this article about the 97-01 Ludes says.
base and SH editions went on sale, each equipped with a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder that employed Honda's variable-valve-timing technology. Running on premium fuel, the engine developed 195 horsepower with 5-speed manual shift, but only 190 horses when equipped with an automatic transmission.
That sounds pretty clear to me that both the base and SH model were given the H22 engine. :shrugs:

you're excellent at quoting what you don't read....Read what you just quoted from me...

Well I was still technically right
Here let me fix your quote...
ok not all the 97 ludes came with the H22...just want to clear that up because I keep reading people saying that, when it's false and an older h22 lude is much harder to find..
There we go all better now. Now all we have to do is make your original quote look like that... and no one will ever know... :gap:
Seriously though sorry for mis-quoting you.
