Hey, just wondering, I was noticing the way that my friend drives his car ('00 GT-S) and he usually upshifts at about 4.5 RPMs and cruzes around with about 3 RPMs. Now, when I drive around the city, I like to shift at about 3.5 and cruz at between 2-3. I asked him about it, and he said its better for the car and gets better control AND gpm. Now, before I change my driving habbits, is he right or should I tell him hes an idiot?

If your friend cruises around at 3K in 6th that's a good rpm for 6th gear (optimal for fuel economy is about 3100 rpm in 6th at round 67-68 mph) for the GT-S. If he is just driving around in lower gears and cruising at 3K he is wasting gas. The GT-S is perfectly fine cruising around at 2K rpm.
So yeah, like others said, your friend is wrong
