The track isnt that smooth, the elevation is really high so you wont get times that you will be even remotely happy with. I went there only once and it was my first time at the track. ran 15.6 all night (which was a 15.1 corrected) with full interior/didn't lower tire pressure/etc. For comparison, there was an s2000 there that night and he couldnt run better than a 15.4 (although part of the problem was probably cuz he couldnt drive). Sports compact car ran a supercharged integra type R there and it didnt run better than a 14.5-14.6. It sucks for getting times, but everyones times there are higher than average so its fair game when your there.

LA county raceway is where all the import drag racing things started with Battle of the Imports. Yea you have to adjust for the elevation of the place and it does get very hot out there.
"this car is a beast. do you know what it ran in palmdale? 9 seconds flat"
so yeah... why are the times higher? will someone care to explain the reasoning?

i think its like 2000 ft above sea level...its a decent place to race. ran 15.9 there with unbolted exhaust and full interior one time. not too bad.

Thanks for the info people.
so what does it mean when its above or below sea level. like reasoning why at higher elevations means slower times..

Higher altitude means less air density hence less charge (oxygen) to the cylinder and less power. That's the really short story.

lacr is more closer to 3000ft above sea level and is about .6 of a second off ur real times u get there
