Window Tinting

once i get a car - i wanna tint my windows and i want them pretty dark - almost black all the way. what's a good percentage of tint? does anyone have like a 20% tint? i'd like to see some pics of tints and let me know what percentage it is please? thanx...

20% wasn't dark enough for me, so I went darker ~ but here in FL the cops don't really go after window tint.

I've got 10%.

I have 15%. Very dark, but doesn't black them totally out.

2.5% on the back 3, 35% on the sides and 4" down of 2.5% in the front

Mines 5% on the back three and 14% on the doors with a 5% strip on the front. My sig doesn't look that dark cause of the reflections of the sky but you can look in my album if you want.
Here's a small pic that'll give you an idea of the darkness. BTW, I've gotten two tickets for it in the last 6 mos.... :(

Do the darkest allowed in your area....to avoid hassle with the cop

depends where you live. i've never heard of someone in florida getting a ticket. i have 15% rear 20% sides and its definately not dark enough. 15% is pretty good you can't really see in, but 20% is very see through. 15% wouldn't be too bad if you want to not get a ticket. but if you want dark do 5% all around.

has anyone tinted their front windshield? maybe just like 50%? i'm thinking this will block out a lot of UV rays and help protect the dash a lot. and keep the car a little cooler.

I've wondered about that too J3adSeed. It seems like a really light tint on the front windsheild would really help keep the glare/heat out without affecting your visability at all.

2.2% all around. never had a problem here in FL. but in Wi i got a fix-it ticket and now that i left, there is no law on tint anymore. o well

well also consider this....

do you drive with your windows up or down.. like the majority of the time. when its down they cant tell right? :) i dont think you should worry too much about it up at night cuz at night.. everyone's car look tinted :)
