ok i just wanted somebody elses opinion on this video. my boyfriend found this on youtube. its a video of a STI going from 0-140. if you notice on the little trip meter it shows how many miles he has on his car but above that it says 220.1 and it doesnt change to 220.2 until he gets to almost 140. my boyfriend called him out on it and said that this video must be BS because how can it go from 0-140 in that short amount of distance? i just wanted somebody elses opinion because it just doesnt seem right so here it is...

OK Genius. Maybe if you owned an STI you would know that once the trip meter reaches 1000 miles it removes the decimal point an the smallest division becomes 1 mile, and as you watch it does go from 2,201 miles to 2,202. Thanks anyway

yea the funny thing is, my boyfriend owns the same yr STI as that kid. i dont even understand what the hell that kids talking about because that doesnt mean its in the thousands. i know that it does change, but it doesnt make sense for it to change .1 until it reaches almost 140.

After the trip meter goes past 999.9 miles it doesn't have room to display tenths of a mile anymore, so it only displays whole miles.

What's hard to understand.

There are only 4 digits available once you go past 999.9 and go to 1000 you can't have 1000.0 because there are only 4 digits in the display.

So when his display went from 2201 to 2202, he traveled at least 1 whole mile.

lol no i understand what your saying. but i dont think its in the thousands, unless i cant see it on my computer. it looks like it says 220.1 which would mean its in the hundreds, and if it changed it would still be in the hundreds. let me know if i just cant see it or if im mis reading it because in that case i would know i was wrong.
