My Dad seems to think his Viper is louder than my car unbolted. So this leads me to wondering if maybe I am still below 95dB or whatever the legal limit is. I wish there was an easy way to test this sort of thing....

I know Kazuma isn't legal and my exhaust basically sounds a lot like Kazuma when I unbolt. So I guess since a Viper is legal (trust me it is loud as hell when it revs up), is an unbolted I4 legal?! lol whatever..

Don't forget about motorcycles. If they're quiet enough to be legal, any Celica is quiet enough to be legal.

Another thing that baffles me is how can a Excursion, Suburban, etc. be emissions legal, while car enthusiasts can't modify their car without worrying about emissions testing/legality. This despite the fact that even the most heavily modified small engined car (with a cat) puts out hardly any emissions when compared to the monstrousities inhabiting the road.

I belive untill very recently (maybe not even changed yet) SUV's were considered light trucks therefor had a lower emisions standard. On a side note i was told we aren't allowed to touch our ECU's at all like the CAT's. don't know if thats true or not the guys knows his **** but also works for toyota.
