hey i'm new to the site and i'm new to my car. i recently acquired a 2000 gt-s. i want to replace the stock stereo with a head unit. i'm looking at a pioneer DEHP4900IB. i've been reading about the TA-03 wiring kit and mod and have learned a little. i want to run the new head unit through the stock amp. if i do this, would it be hard to wire an aftermarket amp later? for someone that has none/little experience with electronics, how hard would installing a head unit be? exactly what parts do i need aside from the head unit and TA-03? is the TA-03 still what's being used or is there something new? thanks.

welcome to the boards....installing an HU to the celi is not hard if you have all the right components.

Hmm well i think for wiring an aftermarket amp later you ownt have any problems cuz that just plugs into the RCA outputs on the hu/ta-03. otherwise not so sure.. never worked with the stock amp before.

Bypassing the amp and running your own wires would be the best and easiest way.

^^also get rid of them alternator whine and buzz..i have the metra harness or something like that, not the ta-03 scotche harness, it works fine..using stock amp..veyr minimal whine..i can only hear it if it's completely silence inside and outside..works for me..
