OK so I have been doing some research on these neat little cars, and I went and sat in one last night. Didn't have time to go for a drive then or I would have. SO I scheduled myself a time with a salesmen tomorrow morning.
IS there anything that I should be sure to look for as a cool/neat feature??
What are my aftermarket options for the dash?? Nice layout and the little electronic fuel and temp gauges are cool, but why the focked up orange color??
Are the 6-speeds really as hard to get used to as I have heard? I have been daily driving a manual since '98 so I should be able to adapt easily.....Right??
Is a payment of $300/month achievable for the below listed car??? with little to no down payment, and no equity in trade in??
Just for general info I am going to be looking at an '02 Silver GT-S with a 6-speed. It has leather, and sunroof as well. Maybe I will posting new pics of the car this weekend, maybe not, I dunno right yet. The car is kinda expensive and I would like to keep my payments down.

i downed 4k and pay 350 a month for 4 years
if i opted of GTS, i would pay way more
IF leased, i have no idea

I am at 8.5% for 4 years and paying $354 a month. And thats with my old 2k1 civic I traded in, although they only gave my 4500 for it.

$4500 for a 2k1 civic?? was it totalled beyond repair when you brought it in or something?

DAMN! Ya'll need to work on your people skills or something...you guys are paying entirely too much a month for your cars...unless that is if you are leasing to own... otherwise, you can get a 3 series BMW for about the same price per year.
And i really hope that civic was totalled...

i think the 2k1 civic was not paid off, and he only gets 4500 out of what he paid (including down and monthly payments)

yes, there are several options with the dash... check out my photo album for a blue and red gauge and needle setup....
i'm pretty sure the shifter will be easy to get used to... it'll be closer than what you are used to, but just remember where reverse is...
consider getting an 00-01 instead... same car, higher rev limit... the 02s have a lower limit because toyota wanted more of a saftey zone, but in doing so they killed a good bit of this car's 1/4 mile...
those payments i think can't be done. All the more reason to look for a 2000 with low miles. Plus it's always better to pay for a car in full from the get go :) no interest, no payments. Use the money you would have been paying per month to save up for the next car... that way when you get it not only will you have less interest to pay, but you'll build interest off of the money you put away. just a quick 2 cents of advice...
The guy was most likely talking about what he got over what he owed on the civic(which was probably inflated by the dealer to make him want to trade it in more, but that's another lesson for another day) but even so, civics aren't exspensive new and dont have the best resell either..

theres a really neat feature actually... get into third gear.. .then start to accelerate... if you keep your foot on the gas pedal long enough the car will bounce off the rev limiter...
also the window switch is in the middle... and you cant "pop" the trunk.. its like a door...

you can change the LED color of your entire dash.. there are people here that will sell you the LEDs and instructions are up somehwere... there are also aluminum dash kits (fake on ebay) and real ones here : http://www.legend5.com

after your first misshift you'll be a pro at driving 6spd... even if the most complicated thing you've operated was your dad's lawn mower.

try to find a used 2001 gts if ur looking for the little bit of extra speed. depending when it was made, it might have the '02 shift gates, u never know. tho 2k2 models are nice just the same. if u like 1/4 times, try lookin for 2k1, but for daily driver and canyon racing, 2k2 is great
