I've been contemplating attempting this w/my interior. Both my door panels have some scratchs & the center console has a LOT of scratchs on it that piss me off when I see them. You know its bad when you can put a scratch on the door panel with your fingernail. GOD ONLY KNOWS why Toyota made our interiors out of ****tier materials than a Kia Rio but we have to live with it I guess.

So I've been thinking of using some high-grit sandpaper on the small areas where the scratches are, then buffing it out w/some polish stuff...the same stuff used for paint. I'm not sure if this will ruin the plastic though, but I've used similar methods on my plastic headlights w/amazing results.

I'm not looking to completely remove the scratches, just to make them nearly inviisible to the naked eye.

Anyone try anything or have any ideas how to remove scratches from the textured interior panels? Any sucess stories?

Would not try it. The interiors of our 7thgens are so damn cheap you could crack a skull open on the dash.

It is possible to rapir them to a degree. Use a low grit sand paper and remove the scratch as best you can. Get some SEM texture spray and first spray a gritty coat on there for good adhesion. Then lay some more down until get the desired texture.

For real fine scratches try heating it. I used a propane torch on mine. If you use my method be very careful!! A heat gun would've prolly worked.

Wipe them down with Vinylex. It won't completely get rid of the scratches, but should make them less noticeable as long as they're not too deep (like gouges).
