View Full Version : Good Exhaust Shop In Central FL?

Anyone know of an exhaust shop that can build a custom exhaust in central FL? One that won't rip me off in pricing, but will still do a good job? Also, preferrably one that can accept emails so I can forward some photos of the layout for a quote.

Mr. Blue Bomber,
What kind of Vehicle are we talking about for a Exhuast system? My best friend can weld with the best of them,He made a custom 2.5 Mandrel Bent Exhuast system for my GT-S Celica from the Header back with High Flow Cat,straight Pipe and a Can,boy is it loud, but it performs, at least my Car is in the high 13s LOL
The only thing is it took us one whole weekend to make it,because we don't have a lift. But for the time and work he would be the cheapest if you have the time to wait.
Let me know what you have for a setup?

Looking for one for a 93 MR2. It's very easy to make from the pics I've seen:

3x 45 degree bends (3")
3x 90 degree bends (1x 3", 2x 2.5")
1x 180 degree bend (3")
Magnaflow muffler #12267 ($100 off of eBay)
Flex section (I already have)
2x tips (hard to find good looking ones for cheap, or at all)
2x hangers
3x flanges (3": 1x 3 bolt, 1x 2 bolt)

Here are pics of how the exhaust should be set up:

I'm free all next weekend (and next week for that matter) and can pitch in with whatever help your friend needs. Let me know if you can get an estimate from him from these pics. Also, let me know if he can get the parts or if I have to order them. Thanks!

Sounds like a plan. :) FL has been lacking in meets since I've been here.

I don't need a job to stack my chedda homie!

So when I was test driving that MR-S I couldn't help but notice how bad a stock 1zz clutch feels... I'm glad I have a TRD clutch :fawk:

Without me and Drew nobody would post in the FL section. Maybe people will start to post and actually make florida worth something.

Mr.Blue Bomber,
I did talk with my friend,he is busy this weekend, but next weekend is looking good. I am sending the pics of your ride so he can give you a estimate,on price and time. We do not have any of the materials,I do know a few places that sell Mandrel Bent Steel Pipes, the same place I went to for my Celica GT-S. They were cheap for all the bends and Pipe, plus you can get stainless steel as well.
Let me know what materials you already have and we will go from there. As soon as I hear back from my friend with all the pics I send him I will let you know, hopefully by Saturday, maybe tommorrow night...

Heh, well, all I have right now is the flex section. I'll pick up the muffler off of eBay today, and maybe the tips. Got a question about that, though. Most of the tips I've seen that I've liked are 2.25" inlet. Your friend can cut the tip down so the inlet would be 2.5" to weld onto the piping, right?

EDIT: just found a nice set of tips with 2.75" inlet. Would that be a problem, since the piping is 2.5" at the tips?

My friend is one hell of a welder. Right now with the holidays, things are very tight and rough right now. He's got Final Exams that are eating him up right now in his trade school. After Christams gets out of the way,and prob New Years I am sure he would be able to do it after that,on a weekend of course. If you can wait, let me know. We are not going anywhere :)
Happy Holidays,
Gino

Yup, ready and waiting. I've got the muffler on the way from eBay, and I'm scouting out potential tips. :) Any clue on the pricing of the mandrel bends from the shop near you? At best, I'm looking for satin stainless, but I would also consider mild steel, since the exhaust will be ceramic coated either way.

This is where I got my materials to weld up my Mandrel Bent Exhuast System.
Great stuff,good price,and fast shipping.

Just pick out what type of Steel you want, stainless,or whatever, 3" I suggest, and I also suggest if you don't have one,I would recommend a 3"downpipe and Tubluar Manifold from Ebay.

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&dfsp=1&from=R10&_trksid=m37&satitle=3sgte+downpipe&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&fmmk=&fmmd=&fylo=&fyhi=&mppfqy=3sgte+downpipe&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=32927&sabfmts=1&saobfmts=insif&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D1&fgtp=

Then I would have the Manifold and downpiple Ceramic Jet Coated
if you have the money to do soo,Trust me Its worth it,I have been building 3s-gte motors, and 2jz-gte motors for awhile,Now I have learned a lot on my 2zz-ge,and 1zz-fe motors and I like all,but hands down to the 3s-gte,it is the best motor ever built for a 4 cylinder. There are no limitations for power if you do everything right.

Cool site. Gonna pick out some stuff right now.

I'm gonna be ceramic coating the exhaust myself with a sprayer and some Techline 2000F Black Satin Ceramic Coating (http://www.caswellplating.com/aids/techline/). Already used it on my downpipe (CRW 3" divorced) and it's still looking good. Way better than the junk a shop used on my turbo and exhaust manifold that's peeling already, and cost 1/5 as much. Best part is, it requires no precuring. Just toss the part on the car and go. It is a bit sticky before running the car, but it gets better if it sits overnight.

BTW, those tubular manifolds do nothing for 3S-GTEs, at least the eBay ones. People have run up to 500whp on the stock manifold without running into excess backpressure caused by it. There are some tubular manifolds out there that will improve power beyond that level, but they're stupid expensive (like everything else at that power level), and only really useful if you're looking for a dyno queen or some extra bling. ;)

Neato. I'll be looking into this also for a 3" straight pipe when I get my supercharger.

3.0" Stainless Tube
Regular price: $17.50
Sale price: $11.50

Nice, how many feet do you think I'll need for my exhaust, Chad?

If you're using the piping on a Celica, stick with 2.5". The SC doesn't touch the exhaust stream like a turbo does, so you'll lose a ton of power with 3".

Thanks for the tip. I might just use the money for a DC or hotshot header if I can find one. MAYYBBEE a PPE. I've already got the TRD exhaust so I should be ok there.
