Okay, this has been making me more and more mad :bang:

Every time I go and drive my car (6 speed) and I'm in a higher gear (it has recently gotten worse and now does it through every gear except first) and my clutch is NOT depressed and I give my car some gas, the clutch slips. It used to be not that big of a problem but for about a week now, it has gotten exponentially worse. It slips and revs up to however high it should when my foot is as far down on the pedal as it is. And then I have to let off for it to catch again. It beginning to really scare me considering I'm pretty much broke. I just need to know what the problem is and the cheapest way to go about fixing it. thanks you guys :D

Are you sure its not a pressure plate problem because my car only has 45,000 miles on it. And I don't see in any way how my clutch could have gone out. And it'll catch in first. I was told that if your clutch is going out, your car wont die if you try to drive it out of third or a higher gear, and my car still dies if Im trying to start it out in second. Blah, I hate having no money :( Shoul I go to the dealership and JUST SEE what they have to say about it?

yeah i know, I might as well get the whole damn thing replaced. I can afford the $240 worth of a clutch kit....its the labor part I'm worried about :(

You should always replace the whole clutch thing when you are there.
The clutch kit isn't as expensive as the job of taking off the transmission.

If you have your own garage, you can buy or try to rent a hoist to support the engine and a transmission jack.
