Hey guys... having just recently installed a Phantom Grip, i thought that I should write up a little review of it.
I just installed the following in my car
6 puck (sprung)
8.5lb. lightweight flywheel
Phantom Grip
Polyurethane mounts (Still need one more but I got them all.. kinda)
Anyways... so at first, I didn't quite see the difference (Mind you I have 14" DX stockies and PEPBOYS TIRES) until one day I was on a tight uphill curve on an onramp.... the can slipped at first... felt normal for a FWD car... but then I thought that I was too agreesive... then again I was at very high rpm (7k) and I was abrupt to get on it... so then I let off and went a little smoother... the car suddenly tightened its line considerably which took me by surprise.. I STILL got on it... but I was just smoother on the transition. I was surprised...
Another time was this morning... JOSE... remember the curve where we tested your sway bars? Well, I took the same curve n my car... and I was impressed by the LSD...
JOSE.. I invite you to come and try it.. its cheap, and it works NICE.. it WILL improve your SOLO UNO numbers.. guaranteed...
I can't tell you about how it works straightline on a hard take off because one of the critical mounts on my motor (driver's side engine mount) came broken... so I can't take off hard until my full "Place Racing" urethane mount comes in.
Anyways... just my two cents.. if you want one.. I know who can install it for you... IF interested, I recommed you do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING you want to do to the tranny at the same time... (AKA, clutch, flywheel... etc. This will SEVERELY cut the cost of labor down... it takes about 20-30 minutes to do this part of the job...
Anyways... there you go... want one? Call CAP performance... they are VERY reliable, and will get stuff on time when you order something that they dont have in stock... Price? around 260-280... (787) 744-1304 Talk to Allan
