I just fitted a new set of front drilled and grooved rotors along with new pads on my 2000 gt-s but when i brake there as a pretty bad shake in the steering wheel? at it first it was when i was doing low speeds eg. breaking at 20 mph+ now it only happens when i break at 70 mph+ i have done about 160 miles since i got them fitted could it be that they just have not bedded in yet?

The rotors could be warped from the factory, or you could have air in the system, causing one caliper to grab harder than the one on the other side.

You probably have pad deposits on your rotors from not breaking them in properly. normally you could get your rotors milled if they were brand new but this is usually not recommended for drilled/slotted rotors. One alternative is to put on really abrasive track pads (axxis metal masters or something like that) and drive around holding the brakes halfway every minute or so for about 15 minutes. It's ghetto but if it's pad deposit that will get it off.
Next time break in your pads do the proper manufacturer-recommended break in procedure.

I can't think of any reputable rotor brands that are drilled and grooved. Did you by any chance get them from ebay?

Disc Brakes Australia has them and they are a very reputable company.

can't say I've ever heard of Cross drilled and grooved. Or am I out of the loop and this is a different term for cross drilled and slotted?

Do you know if they are made with the drilled holes or if they were just drilled from the blanks?

Ah sounds like they were drilled from blanks. They will have stress cracks from the drillings.

Yes but under normal driving conditions you most likely will not see them failing. If you are going to be racing, tracking, autocrossing, it is know that just a slotted-only disc brake is the best choice. If you look at their website, all of their cross-drilled and slotted say normal use as well as improved braking with aggressive appearance.

Yep, under normal conditions they should be fine. I'm from the New England weather where there are snow storms with frigid temperatures, they wouldn't hold up as well but they do look nice. I personally got a set but they weren't to my choosing, but Brembo's.

yep they are e-bay rotors, obx racing, they have come good now after a week must have just been the pad bedding in? just another question, the rotors are zinc coated, will this ware off over time?

yes where the brakes make contact it will wear off.
