cb hatch

read somewhere that cb hatch wouldnt work with the cars back window, that you might have too get lexan instead. wont support it maybe. wondering if anybody has one and had prolems with back window maybe coming off or somethng else.

Do you mean CF? and if so i was wonering about the CF hatch too. I wanna get one but only if it fits well. Anybody wit Answers?

oh, ya meant cf, thought this thread was dead, ya i have a silver gts , looking iinto cf hood, bats overlay with cf hatch. if hatch wont work, think ill do cf fenders and bumper instead.guy down the block has an evo and has whole front end cf, hood, fenders, bumper, it looks sweet.has anybody done the install of hatch themselves on here?any help would be appreciated :wiggle:

Wait you meant like, the entire rear door? All in carbon fiber?

I've never seen that, but it would help greatly in keeping the damned thing up since the struts wear out fast.

um, the hatch,if that means entire rear door, then ya. seen some pics on here with them.just doing hatch, not back bumper. just not sure if you can still use rear window or does weight become a problem?i forgot but was on another car forum and some had problems with it, said to get lexan/speedglass. just want to know what is involved as i may just skip it .

Well if I unserstand what you are talking about then yes usually people use the stock back window when they buy a c/f hatch. Is this the type of hatch you are talking about?

If this what you mean then I am pretty sure that alot of people just use the glass from the factory hatch. Most want and would recommend useing some type of lighter substance for the c/f hatch , but many of them just end up using the old glass from their hatch.... which is pretty heavy.

ya i read an early post from celica 2nr with a similar question about cf hatch. so did you get the lexan and did you do the install yourself.
