after rotating my tires, i noticed that the passenger's side(ps) tire always balds quicker than the drivers side(ds). i thought it might be due to the alignment, and figured i would get the car re-alinged when i get my new set of tires.

While under the car, changing my oil, i was looking around and i noticed that the axle boot looked funny on the ps. so i went and looked over at the ds and that one looked complete. the ps axle boot looked pushed in and was loose. comparing by looks at the ds i saw that it was missing a little metal ring that seems to hold the boot onto the drive shaft.

i cant find any pictures of what im talking about.. but does this have anything to do with my tires balding?

lmao!.. no but seriously.. would you blame the balding on something wrong with the axle.. or just plain ole need alingment.

most likely alignment cant seem to picture how the axle will cause tire wear unless its tilted at an angle or something which could be possible.

so i would just get it aligned first and see what happens.

Sorry to revive this..

So its been some time since i got my new set of tires and still noticed the same issue.. passenger front tire balds (evenly across) WAAY faster.. my neighboor saw my rotating one tire and told me it sounds like the CV joint problem.. this sound about right?.. is it easily changeable?.. im a DIY kinda guy..

You can find the clip at almost anyparts store. When i did my alighnment one of them broke, went to pepboys and bought a new one

And for the tire becoming bald quicker, it seems like ur toe is off some, get an alighment

If you axle is loose and that side tire is going bold, you might have a wheel bearing going bad/separating. Take the load off the wheel and check for play.
